The breaking process is a key stage of any horse’s career and we believe a good beginning and education is fundamental to a horse’s future success. We treat each horse individually, focusing on attention to detail and giving them as much time as they need. Situated in the peaceful Gloucestershire countryside, surrounded by quiet lanes and orchards, we are in the ideal setting to educate horses.

Pre-training and schooling

We prepare horses at all different stages to go into training, from horses needing more time after the breaking process to develop and strengthen, to horses coming to us for spells and schooling out of training. We are careful to listen to trainers about each horse’s needs and we can facilitate any requirements. Often horses simply need a change of scenery. A few weeks off the gallops, enjoying hacking and controlled turnout can do wonders.

Older horses also come to us out of training for periods of flatwork to develop and strengthen muscles while at the same time improving suppleness and movement. Such horses include:

SOUTH SEAS – Winner of 3 races inc. The Solario Stakes (Gr3), RU in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud (Gr1)

G FORCE – Winner of the Haydock Sprint Cup (Gr1)

LIGHTNING SPEAR – Winner of the 2018 Sussex Stakes (Gr1)

AROD – Winner of 2015 Summer Mile Stakes (Gr2) 3rd in the Celebration Mile (Gr2) and RU in the Paris Stakes (Gr3) in AUS
